Welcome to all members and friends of Bordescros, and those who may have just discovered us!
There is a great deal happening in The Crossing at the moment, and we invite everyone to join us whether you are a person who is coming to their first event, a past or present member, or a wayfarer from a surrounding Barony/Shire. Come along and meet more members of our Shire.
The Gathering will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the Albury Wodonga Sportfishing Club, Lockheed Drive, Albury beginning at 2.00 p.m. with tournaments, games and activities for all ages.
There will be a feast from about 6.00 p.m. Bring along a contribution towards the feast, anything from bread, cheese or fruit through to pre1600 recipes. A simple guide is to avoid tomatoes, potatoes, corn, avocadoes and other fruits of the ‘New World’.
You will need to make an attempt at pre-1600 clothing, but we can provide you with loaner clothing for the day.
The cost for non-members is $15 for adults, $5 for children under 16–though if this is your first event, the adult cost is reduced to $5.
So if you have only just discovered us, and wonder what our events are like, this is a great time to come along and have a look.
ARTS & SCIENCES COMPETITION
We will be hosting another A&S competition! This time the theme will be:
- Meat
- Woven
- German
- Or your own choice–no need to be limited to what’s listed here!
To achieve top points in this competition documentation is recommended, but it is not necessary to enter.
We would also like to ask that entries would be able to be submitted electronically after the competition, so they can be posted to our website if the participant agrees. And of course entries can be submitted via email (where appropriate) if the participant cannot physically attend the feast.
Looking forward to all the excellent crafts and ideas people will have to share with not only our newcomers but all of us who might be interested in dabbling in a new skill set.
